I have indigenous American ancestry and ancestors who were on the Mayflower. I’m glad my ancestors here welcomed my ancestors seeking religious freedom from across the ocean.
For my family, it was our first big family meal together in this land.
And the day itself is meant to give thanks to God for our bounteous blessings.
Those who would cancel it, don’t believe in God and want to destroy culture so they can rule easier. Wanting people to be thankful to them instead of being thankful to God.

Every year a local businessman provides meals for those who need or want a meal on Thanksgiving day in St. George, Utah.
This was my first time there to get a meal plate for a friend.
There were volunteers manning every aspect of it, both old and young, male and female.
I noticed indigenous American descendants there as well as others with darker and lighter skin tones. Much like that first meal shared by Pilgrim and Indian 400 years ago this year.
This is the year to commemorate it. Hope you did.
George Washington thought it a good tradition and Abraham Lincoln set the third Thursday of November aside as a national day of Thanksgiving to God who gave us all we have and has preserved us a nation under God.
Happy Thanksgiving Day.
Greeting from across the ocean. excellent blog I shall return for more.
