America’s sacrificing to idol gods

Posted by on 08 Jan 2017 | Tagged as: blog

America’s sacrificing to idol gods
Human sacrifice was a religious practice of the pre-Columbian Aztec civilization, as well as other Mesoamerican civilizations such as the Maya and the Zapotec.

Spanish explorers, soldiers and clergy who had contact with the Aztecs between 1517, when an expedition from Cuba first explored the Yucatan, and 1521, when Hernán Cortés conquered the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, made observations of and wrote reports about the practice of human sacrifice. For example, Bernal Díaz’s The Conquest of New Spain includes eyewitness accounts of human sacrifices, as well as descriptions of the remains of sacrificial victims. In addition, there are a number of second-hand accounts of human sacrifices written by Spanish friars, that relate the testimony of native eyewitnesses. The literary accounts have been supported by archeological research.

When Cortez and and the boys saw the human sacrifice, they were repelled as any Christian would be.
Helping to destrouy such a blood thirsty culture was something they saw as required of God.
And why not? Who could kill babies, maidens, and others as sacrifices to dumb idol Gods?

But here in American today, the blood sacrifice bunch are at it again.

It’s called abortion.

Now the idol god is money to perform the dastardly deed.

Consider the following letter:

“Once abortionists have a woman in their grasp, they can’t stand to let her go.

That’s why when one mother changed her mind about aborting her twins, the abortion mill refused to unlock their doors and let her leave.

As the mother paid for the abortion at the front desk, she was already second guessing her decision.

Nonetheless, she ventured through the abortion mill to speak with her so-called abortion “counselor.”

But at that moment, the mother changed her mind about having an abortion. She told her “counselor” that she wanted to choose life for her unborn twins. But the abortion workers refused to let her leave.

They locked their doors, trapping the mother inside the abortion mill, and when she demanded that they give her a refund of her money and let her leave, they instead continued to pressure her to go through with killing her babies.

The abortionists ultimately forced the mother to let them keep half of her money before she could escape their mill.

And although the twins from this story survived a close call with an abortion mill, not all babies are so lucky.

Sixty-one million little lives have been snuffed out since Roe v. Wade legalized abortion-on-demand in 1973.

You and I must unite to overturn the disastrous Roe v. Wade and end the barbarism once and for all.”

If I’d Known: the NRWC

Posted by on 04 Jan 2017 | Tagged as: blog

I lost a Carpentry job once when the boss made a deal with the Union for workers.
One day before I was let go because I wan’t a union man and wouldn’t be allowed to join because of the deal, two long time
union men worked with me. Because of their haughty attitude, they wouldn’t listen to me (“We’ve been with the union for years and know it all.” attitude),
They built part of our building wrong.
When they finally realized it, they came to me cap in hand and asked me what needed to be done to correct their mistakes with “After all you’ve built these kind of buildings before.”
I still lost the job.
I wish I’d known about the National Right to Work Committee then.
I’d have sued;  not for the job but for the principle of the matter.
I had a right to keep a job that I knew more about than men based solely on the fact that they belonged to a union.

My Christmas Gift To You

Posted by on 01 Jan 2017 | Tagged as: blog

My Christmas Gift To You

Though it’s a little late for Christmas day, it isn’t late for the Christmas spirit that should fill our hearts year round.

“The essence of the Christmas season is giving as motivated by the pure love of Christ for which all should be grateful.

My gift to you at this time of the year is a story not only of giving but of gratitude.   As you eat your Christmas orange that is in better condition than the one in the following story, you can remember all for which you are grateful.

During the 2nd World War, Denzil Hall was serving in North Africa.   There the American soldiers were given chocolates and other candies to give to the children of the newly emancipated countries so as to win them over to the better life they would now have under the Allies.  Denzil gave away his share to as many children as he could remembering how eagerly they grabbed the sweets and then disappeared not to be seen again unless more candy was distributed by some G. I.

One day while out walking by himself, Denzil felt like someone was behind him.   Fearing that it was the enemy, he swirled around with gun readied.   To his surprise he found not the enemy but a small ragged boy with outstretched hand.   In the boy’s hand, Denzil saw the oldest, most wilted orange he could ever remember seeing.   The boy drew near and gave the soldier the orange as his thanks for the candy.   The only child who thanked the American for the sweets.   Tears came to Denzil’s eyes as he took the orange from the boy who promptly scurried away leaving the soldier to contemplate the magnitude of the starving boy’s gift.”

Christmas is about giving and thanking.

   Have a wonderful Christmas!

Leaves were Flying and Dancing

Posted by on 18 Dec 2016 | Tagged as: blog

The first winter storm just past with leaves flying and dancing in the streets.

Early Saturday morning under snow caped peaks some images were captured of a fellow in red at a local golf course.
And later he was caught by a chimney and tree.
He’s started early this year.
Oh, it was a Toys for Tots event that brought him here.

The perfect get rich field?

I Get a lot of email Daily.

There was one email in the one inbox today from a health guru touting the

benefits of a fellow marketer that has promoted his stuff.

His stuff is over priced and  doesn’t arrive in a timely fashion either online or off.

So why should I listen to him?

I’ll let you read his letter and my reply and decide for yourself.
Pocketing $250 to $750 for a few minutes of work.(2)

Hi Jay,

Ever heard the phrase, “In a world…” in movie
trailers?

I don’t know about you but it has been used in so
many  movies that it became a cliché.

Reason I’m asking you is because the guy behind
that voice became a millionaire because of an
accident.

Yes,  you read that right.

La Fontaine’s voice cracked at age 13 in
mid-sentence…

… giving him that distinct tone that later
brought him much fame and success.

His income a month was reportedly in the millions!
In fact, at his peak he was doing about 60
voice overs a week sometimes even 35 in a single
day!

Now let me tell you this …

60 promotions a week isn’t really absurd once you
find out that there’s a big gaping hole in the
voice over industry.

The demand is just too much for the supply.

And guess what?

There is documentation and proof showing how
under served this industry is – and what you can do
to take advantage of it…

You can see it all here.

Now, you’re probably wondering …

How come we haven’t heard about it?
The answer is simple.

Voiceover folks are making a killing pocketing
$250 to $750 for a few minutes of work.

And they are afraid of sharing the wealth because
they  DON’T KNOW that the voiceover industry is a
17 billion dollar behemoth that’s growing at a
steady rate of 7.6% each year.

Can you imagine how big of a market is waiting for
you to make your mark?

If you are curious or at the very least interested
making side income just by recording your voice
then check this out

On that presentation, you’d even be surprised how
most people with horrible voices manage to carve a
big piece of the pie.

Then again, don’t believe me.

See it for yourself.

To Your Good Health,
Kevin Richardson

The perfect get rich field! Right?

Not so fast, here is my reply to him:

Kevin,

I’m a voice over guy.
It’s now all done on the internet,  not in studios like Mr La Fontaine used.
and a distinct voice isn’t enough.
It is a saturated industry with more and more competition daily.
Now a voice talent needs to be the voice, the studio, the sound engineer, the computer engineer, the sales department, the advertising department, the fulfillment department, etc.
The voice talent has to be unique and all those things and more.
There are millions of voice talents who are unemployed.
In my 10 plus years in the modern business, I’ve gotten two voice over jobs because of a neighbor lady who asked me to voice two videos introducing new products to the market place .
That’s it.
Mr. Don La Fontaine walked into a studio and just spoke.
Years ago, so did I.    While in the studio, I’d read for several things and walk out with a check.

Not that way any more.
As in all parts of the entertainment business, Some succeed and earn the big money, most  don’t.
Sincerely,
Jay Beacham

When the “stay in your pajamas and earn big money from home” ads come at you, just take a breath and

realize that all that glitters isn’t gold.

It’s Christmas time again

Posted by on 08 Dec 2016 | Tagged as: blog

It’s Christmas time again.
Cold temperatures in the Northern climes, snow, lights, decorations,
trees, presents, and of course Santa Claus.
I get into the season of Christmas by playing the part of Santa Claus.
I’ll do my first event on the 12th of December.

Santa 1
My church unit is having it’s Christmas dinner party on the 9th.
It wasn’t always like this.
Christmas sales start early in the fall when they used to start the day
after Thanksgiving with the Macey’s parade hosting Santa Claus.
When I was a child, most people didn’t own a TV.
The radio only played all Christmas songs on Christmas Eve and
on Christmas Day.
Christmas was a big thing.
When I was a child the elementary school was next to the church
house in our town.
We learned songs, decorated, and waited.
On Christmas Eve the church stage became the scene of our Christmas
pageant.
After the boys dressing in their father’s bathrobes, the girls as Mary and angels
and a toy baby doll being the baby Jesus, the school age children would sing songs
for the audience, consisting of everyone in our small town.
Before the night was over, we’d be visited by Saint Nick himself.
Everyone attended. Like I said, it was a big deal for our small town.
Once in my early adult years, I went back to witness the then pageant.
It was the same as I had remembered.
That doesn’t occur anymore.
Things are bigger now, there are more people and more parties, and celebrations.
But by Christmas Eve the public events are long past.
There are times when I yearn for those simplier days.
When Santa appeared on Christmas Eve.
Some times even being seen at people’s houses.
A family I knew, had the father and later the sons who dressed as Santa and
visited people in Cedar City, Ivins, St. George, Santa Clara, and other small
southern Utah towns. They went to relatives and friends. The father often
took a donkey along to carry the presents.
The children were thrilled even when they’d arrive in the wee hours of the morning.
Though the parents didn’t like getting out of bed so early because they’d just
retired for the night, very late because they’d been making Christmas Cookies
and getting other surprises ready for their children.
Men have taken their wife along as Mrs. Claus.
That continues but the appearances start no later than Thanksgiving day and often before.
In our part of the world there were no shopping malls, so no Santas were seen in stores.
Now Santa Claus is a big marketing tool for businesses.
I just saw an ad in an email with the singer star dressed as Santa announcing his
sale deals. He really looked good, just like Mr Claus.
I wish him good sales success.
I was even tempted to Dress in my Santa garb and try a promotion of my cds,
videos, dolls, toys and the like, and other items I have for sale.
But then I thought back to what the reason of the season really is and it’s not for
me to be able to sell more. So I dismissed the thought.
And no one has the patience to wait for Saint Nick these days.
I’d been Santa for a place doing Toys for Tots last year and the lady in charge called
me again today. But when I didn’t reply until evening, she booked someone else.
So afraid that things couldn’t be done if a few hours elapsed.
Be patient, Santa Claus and the big day will arrive soon enough.
And my longing for the simplier days of long ago will go unfulfilled
unless I just walk down memory lane a bit and relive those times in my mind.
Merry Christmas.

Santa 2

A Child’s Language Mistakes

Posted by on 02 Dec 2016 | Tagged as: blog

A Child’s Language Mistakes

When a child is trying to learn it’s parents’ language mistakes are made and we think it is cute. One of my sons couldn’t say “L”s at first so he called his brother by the easy for him to say “Amee”.     Cute right?
When an adult tries to learn a new language and makes a mistake, that person is ridiculed or worse called an idiot.
Why?
They are children in that language.
Recently a young actress started to learn Arabic and a couple of other languages other than her native tongue. Any mistake she makes becomes international news.
“How foolish ” “What an idiot” “Insane” “Bizarre” “can’t read” “Watch your language”
etc.
She’s a child still in that language.
Should she be condemned for trying to learn, speak, other languages?
I’m a singer and have tried a number of languages in song.
It’s not that easy to get one’s tongue around some of those words one encounters in foreign tongues.
Some of us will never pronounce words right even in our native tongue so why be so critical of someone trying to improve one’s self by learning  a foreign language.
The world becomes smaller when a person learns other languages and realizes that people who speak differently are just like them.
I’m trying to learn a song in Greek right now.

The World The Way I see It

 by Jay Beacham

11/8/2016

Today was another beautiful fall day in the southwest corner of Utah.

A few wispy cirrus clouds in an otherwise blue sky. Still with no breeze.

Just a nice day.

Nice to stand in a long line outside the Southern Utah Veterans Center

in Ivins, Utah, waiting to cast one’s ballot  in the November 8th election.

Not to warm or cold.

The staff from the Center provided cookies, water and punch for those

waiting in line to vote.

I mentioned to a neighbor lady in line that if we had this kind of turn out

for a local election, it would be great.  Few turn out for local elections whose

outcome more directly affect our lives on a daily basis.

Bonnie B. I knew and a Jon K. up further in the line but not the others around me,

so I introduced myself.

They were Ashland and her two year old son, Nixon in his stroller,Michelle G,

Mike and Rene.  We all talked and I even stepped out of line for a moment

or two to speak to Jon K.

Later as they were leaving, I spoke to Harold and Sonja B.

They are originally from Germany and Switzerland.

Yesterday, a friend from The Gambia, West Africa messaged me to  ask if

I’d voted already.

The out come of this national election interests the whole world.

Some voted early like Jim H. who left the building after visiting with WWII veteran

Jack R.  “To avoid the lines,”  he told me.

What did we talk about while we waited?

The weather, the cookies, the children not there.

“Glad I didn’t bring my 5 year old,” Ashland said.

Bonnie had left her 4 year old with a sitter, the others were in school.

Michelle’s daughter was in school.

And of course the election was a big topic

of our conversations.

The Electoral College and was there a point to the individual popular vote.

And who are those chosen as electorals and how are they chosen.  We

didn’t know and doubted if we had any say about it.

We spoke about local disinterest and complaining but not voting or going to town

council meetings and an unwillingness to serve as an elected official by most.

Later in the after noon, I spoke with a women who didn’t vote saying it was only a

choice between two evils.  I reminded her of a local tax increase initiative on the ballot.

We talked about the results, reporting, etc.

 One third party presidential candidate

several years ago, didn’t even learn how many votes were for him.

That year I served on his election committee locally and sent off for election

results to all the states and territories and districts.  Louisiana sent me a copy of

a New Orleans newspaper with results.

The Shortest and most comprehensive report I got except for the Hawaii official results

which came in two large books, precinct by precinct, which I received in mid July.

South Carolina wanted to charge $36 for their book. I didn’t get it as I’d only wanted

the total vote for each major candidate.

I didn’t mention it, but I was amazed that year by all the votes for Micky and Minnie Mouse,

TV night show hosts, church men, comedians, actors and the like. Wasted votes for sure.

A former county commissioner told me when he was still in office that a small handful

of people ran things in the county.

“…a very small handful,” he said, “And I’m not one of them.”

Sad isn’t it.

The voting machines were finally working, so the voting sped up and so did the line.

I voted and then on the way out spoke to a receptionist of the center, Kathy W., who’d

not voted yet because of the long slow lines.

When I got home I called my older brother, who not owning a car, needed a ride to his

voting place.

I drove to his apartment and then drove him to an elementary school  for his chance to vote.

I waited for him for 40 minutes while I wrote my thought down.

Did my vote make a difference at any level?

My brother thought the only two votes of import to him was the presidential vote and

the vote for or against a proposed county tax increase.  Both he and I voted against it.

He’d spoken to people who’d tried but couldn’t vote absentee for some reason and

those who wanted write in ballots.

He bought up the issue of those already in office using government funds, stamping machines,

etc. to electioneer.

There were exit pollsters there.  He told them he didn’t have time to respond.

I believe reporting exit polls is a bad thing used to influence elections before they are officially over

nation wide, before the polls are closed in Hawaii and Guam,

Even before absentee and military votes are counted..

We have a lot of election problems.

Does spending more money than the next guy win elections?

It seems that this National Election has been all about money.

How much each campaign can raise and spend on advertising.

One Presidential candidate started suggested contributions at $3.00 a person

while spending huge sums of his own money.

PACs raised and spent vast amounts on all sides.

What happens to unused campaign contributions?

This election reminds me of the 1970 Presidential Election in Austria.

I stood on a street corner of the cobble stone streets of Vienna one day waiting for a street car.

The campaigners were out in force handing out flyers to each passerby.  One lady took

the literature offered and grumbled on her way to a nearby garbage receptacle attached to a

light post.  The container was over flowing with flyers previously thrown there.

“It doesn’t make any difference who you vote for, ” she said, “they all waste our money.”

There’s voter fraud, reporting results before all the votes are counted, people not voting, etc.

But while in line, I related to Bonnie B. what N.S. had once told the County Republican Convention

when he served as chairman.  He had visited his mother in his native Iran and took her

to the elections while there.  He said that there were armed guards at the polling place,

each holding a machine gun.

We have our voting problems but it’s better here than elsewhere.
