Proper government

Posted by on 08 Aug 2009 | Tagged as: blog

Each person thinks government is overstepping its bounds if it steps on his or her feet. But  if government assist them, then it is good.
Have we not brought this on ourselves?
We think it just to steal from those who have no children to be schooled so that we can educate our children at the expense of someone else. Isn’t this socialism or something worse?

I don’t want socialized medicine.  I’ve lived under it. It is bad at its very best.

Americans believe in taking care of themselves.

Last week, young Sister Dumas, LDS missionary ate the Brigham Young Winter Home, was her last time to serve there as her mission ended this past Tuesday. I was telling her and the senior Elder what the Jacob Hamblin script said.  Her comment to me was that she could listen to me all day tell stories and if I did audio books, she’d surely listen.

So why do I mention it again? Well I have recorded many things but they haven’t been published to the public yet.   Get ready to get these audio recordings via the internet with paid downloads.

I’ll have some online very soon.

Tonight I attended the color country chorus barbershop rehearsal.

As fun as ever. Other guys I’ve sung with in ward choirs and elsewhere were there and I met a few guys. Hope to meet the rest. Great songs.  Great voices. America does have talent but most of it is in groups like this and similar ones all over this country. You’ll  never see and hear them at home in front of your Television.

I’d like to attend all the time.

He’s an Imposter.

Today I was at the Brigham Young home for four and three quarters hours. I did my two St. George Live tours. A family in the second group came at eleven and I sent them to the Tabernacle to catchup with the tour.  They stayed longer at Brigham’s. Plus I did several other groups in Brigham’s office and in between getting photos of the missionaries, I was being asked to be in photos with groups of visitors.  One such group consisted of two mothers and 5 boys and 3 girls.  (There were many children today.) The children were outside under the mulberry tree on and around the benches with one of the mothers. The other one was in the house taking photos of everything with an impressive camera. Before she came out side with the sister missionary, one of the boys looked at me and said, ” He’s an impostor” and then a smaller boy  told his mom, “He’s dead.” I had to admit that Brigham was indeed dead and yes I was an impostor but was playing Brigham today. After that they were Okay with it. The boy who said I was an impostor later said I spoke to fast but when we got to the front porch for pictures, he wore Brigham’s hat for a shot or two and didn’t mind being an impostor too.

Lots of fun today and was asked to give my spiel to many groups.  The last of which was a local family and the father’s brother and  parents from California. He had to translate from English into Spanish for the parents. The mother mentioned the new painting of Brigham(earlier a lady had said that it was her favorite painting of him, a sweetened up version of Brigham, while in June a lady looking at that same painting said I was better looking than the painted man; all people’s perspective). They had four daughters, ages twelve on down. I only did my spiel and it was much slower, didn’t tell anything else about the office or St. George. They had requested of the Elder for me to speak to them. It was much easier understanding California Spanish than Mexican Spanish.

One of the young sister missionaries, who is from southern California, is going home next week. She likes big band and swing music. She said I should read audio books. She’d definitely listen to me read them.  And of the couple, the elder kept telling folks about me on the radio and that I  will be again soon, of me being a celebrity, and such like.  Well, I would love to but radio doesn’t pay very well here for an  announcer and I don’t get jobs or parts from auditions. At least such has been the case throughout my life. I’m either asked to be in something or to help out, which I can do very well, or I make my own job or part. So since I started a poetry lens on squidoo and have included a poem or two of mine in this blog from time to time, have made my poetry audio tapes and books and have started recording selections of mine on the computer so as to make a cd.  “Coming soon to a cd player near you. ‘Poems by Jay’ ” as well as digitized versions of my story telling tapes.

Today at Brigham Young’s Winter Home

Posted by on 31 Jul 2009 | Tagged as: blog

Today,  after I had finished my Brigham Young spiel and explained things in the office to the St. George Live tour group,  a man from the group came up to me and said I really looked “a lot like Brigham Young.  Good casting.”

That was nice of him to say that.  But in the very next group,  a family of several boys and girls and the mother, six year old Joy leaned over to her Mom as I sat in the corner at a writing table and whispered: “I thought Abraham Lincoln was dead.” Meaning me of course.

Which all goes to prove that its all in our perception of reality.

So who was I today.

Joy accepted that I was an actor.

But like photographer Glen Martin said the other day,  “You make a good Brig but you really make a good Abe.  Well,  says  who?

Our perspective.

Pioneer Day In Utah

Posted by on 25 Jul 2009 | Tagged as: blog

The 24th was a memorable day, starting with the Ivins parade with Bryce Hunt snapping photos of everyone in sight. The Color Country Chorus barbershop concert at the Tabernacle in St. George was absolutely great. Even the movie in the park at 9 pm was okay. You should have been here.

Today at the Tuacahn Saturday Market, I was Jacob Hamblin and a pioneer guy while Alan Capon made a fantastic Brigham Young. There was a lady from Thailand selling Thai things. She married a St. George guy and Joan Wilson is related to them and was there helping. Like I said, you should have been there.

Its your body’s health.

I just finished reading “2 day acne cure” an e-book available for purchase from http://www.productsupplycenter.com/web283032/

It is a very good book and advises good health regime.  I wish I had written it.

You should get it and try the program.

I don’t have acne now but feel that this program could help me feel better and have healthier skin too.

The Cannon Exploded

Posted by on 05 Jul 2009 | Tagged as: blog

Jay Beacham I’m just watching the Capital 4th on PBS. They just finished the 1812 overture. The Cannon salute was great and now the fife corp. This am I was at a small cannon firing celebration. On the third shot the cannon blew up. Incredibly no one was hurt as metal and wood splinters flew in all directions. Tyler Hunt’s car stopped the back of the cannon which went through a tail light and lodged behind it.The cannon affair: well our guardian angels kept us all safe. It wasn’t our time to die and aren’t we blessed that we don’t have wars raging here at home?
