JayBeacham.com-A Voice as an Instrument

On the 22nd of December 2009, the Master Singers Men’s Chorus of St.George, Utah performed at the St. George Tabernacle.
I was asked to sing a solo with Mrs. Dana Matthews on the piano.
It was “A Cradle in Bethlehem”. The microphone system was very good. When I finished, the announcer said something about my “very fine voice” and after wards, as I thanked folks for attending at one of the east doors, someone said I sounded better than Willie Nelson. Another soloist’s daughter said I “sounded like Willie Nelson only better.”I told her it was the day and the song.
I believe that true because one night at a karaoke sing in a lady’s home I “sounded just like Neil Diamond”. Never have been able to do that since.
At times past Nat King Cole, Glen Yarborough, Pat Boone,and others have been who people thought I sounded like. Must just be the day and the song.
